Supporting Encirc to meet legal obligations under Environmental Law & Regulations and compliance requirements of the Operational permits
Principal Accountabilities
- Manage Operational permits and consents necessary to satisfy existing and proposed future legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the environmental management system to the BS.EN.ISO 14001 2015 standard
- Facilitate Audits of ISO and MCERTS systems
- Liaise with the Health, Safety, Environment Manager on all aspects of authorisations, permits and consents relevant to the project
- Project Input on Environmental compliance and planning. advise on necessary interactions with stakeholders, including regulators
Responsibilities
- Ensure the application and demonstration of Best Available Techniques
- Ensure the register of Environmental Aspects & Risk Opportunities, and Legal Compliance is kept up to date
- Co-ordinate the regulatory meetings with the Environment Agency (EA) or Local Authority to discuss environmental compliance
- Track progress of environmental deliverables and report monthly to the Health Safety & Environment Manager
- Continual improvement of Environment Management System and ensuring site Environmental Risk Assessment is maintained

The Ideal Candidate
- Degree in relevant discipline
- Experience working an environmental management preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Membership of a relevant professional body & working towards a chartered membership
- Ability to educate & train others on Environmental matters
- Capable of maintaining a high degree of effectiveness in a multitask role, managing priorities & delivering to challenging timescales
- Excellent knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations & permit conditions
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environment management systems & Auditing
