The Environment Technician is a diverse position which will include updates and development of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management systems, improving environmental performance and engagement of the workforce.
Main reponsibilities :
Developing the EMS documentation and system effectiveness
Support and advise the site to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the Environmental Management Systems (EMS), including legislation
To identify significant environmental impacts on projects
Auditing processes for compliance and continuous improvement
Working closely with our operational teams to raise awareness & improve environmental performance
Support the sustainability team on the introduction of new programs and targets
Produce Key Performance Reports to meet compliance obligations for operational permits
Visible hands on role, highly active across the Elton site, engaging with employees, contractors, supporting, monitoring & measuring environmental activity
Capturing all relevant data relating to effluent, energy, water, waste, and sustainability measures; and formatting such to form KPI's for reporting
Continual improvement of waste management contracts & identify housekeeping standards
Working closely with the HSE team to ensure operational risk is assessed and effective controls are in place
Business Knowledge
Experienced in ISO 14001 Env Management Systems
IT skills ( Word, Excel, Outlook , PowerPoint)
Strong communication and presentation skills
Essential Functional / Technical Skills
Knowledge of Env legislation and good practice
Experience in auditing preferred
Previous industrial experience preferred
Business report writing skills
Attention to detail
