OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR AN EVENTS ASSISTANT TO JOIN THEIR BUSY TEAM BASED IN SWINDON TOWN CENTRE. THIS IS A LONG TERM TEMPORARY POSITION UNTIL MAY 2020. THE ROLE WILL BE WORKING MONDAY-FRIDAY 9AM-5PM AND IS PAYING £10.71 PER HOUR.



The Opportunity:


The right person for this role will be able to carry out routine or directed tasks that support the Events team which ensures that the Events team delivers a high quality and cost effective service to its customers. You will have experience of working as part of a collaborative team by supporting the delivery of events, hospitality or marketing campaigns. You will have experience of working directly with customers and being able to resolve queries whilst looking for ways to improve the effectiveness of self and the team. You will work well within a team environment and be able to advise senior managers of issues or problems as they arise. You will work alongside or support the Senior/Events executives on all UK events that require input.



Main Accountabilities:



  • Maintaining budgetary logging system for all Event team spend / income and resolving issues and charges

  • Ensuring all budgetary and financial deadlines are efficiently planned for and executed throughout the financial year

  • Supporting the Senior/Event executives in their readiness for events (name badges, joining instructions etc)

  • Managing and resolves queries on behalf of the team and get involved in the business activities of the Events team by taking accountability for some specific tasks

  • Management of all merchandise, events branded materials, debenture tickets (includes, marketing, sale and ticket distribution)

  • Organising of IT required to meet the events team's requirements, including equipment

  • Maintaining a full compliance log - ensuring GEOA, Anti Bribery & Anti Corruption processes are followed and challenging omissions or incomplete forms.



Your Skills and Experience:



  • Have the ability to deliver within tight deadlines

  • Have experience of working with a team in various locations and managing third party suppliers

  • Have the ability to prioritise your own work so that goals are achieved

  • Have a flexible approach to work various hours across various location as required to ensure delivery of events

  • Be flexible in handling differing types of work when required

  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.



The role is is based within a major blue chip company and is a very short walking distance of Swindon bus station and train station, with an on-site Coffee Shop and Restaurant. 20 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidays and after 12 weeks you will be entitled to an extra 2 days holiday and the possibility of joining the pension scheme if you meet certain criteria.
