An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Events Manager to join an organisation based in Dagenham.

The Events Manager will run private catering events operation alongside the Head Chef, managing bookings for private rooms and banqueting. The successful candidate will ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely manner, making sure that health and safety regulations are observed in the FOH area at all times. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service to all clients during banqueting operations, overseeing and ultimately responsible for the front house operation for all events.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience working in a busy catering and events environment, with a commercial focus and ability to work calmly under pressure.

Key duties will include:

  • To follow all instructions from the Operations Manager

  • To organise rotas and staff booking

  • To make sure food is cooked and served in a timely manner

  • To attend all departmental meetings

  • Ensure excellent presentation of dishes

  • To attend training as required

  • To implement dressing code of the company at all times for the team

  • To run a "customer's always right policy" at all times

  • To manage and be responsible for wet and dry stock in your department

  • To run an efficient events booking calendar

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen area

  • To promote a productive team work atmosphere

  • To be fully knowledgeable of all front of house equipment

  • To be responsible for opening and closing the premises

  • To be fully knowledgeable of all dish recipes

  • To be accountable for the department's budget

  • To promptly report all maintenance issues and follow up on fixing and resolving

  • To proactively deal with complaints from customers

  • To be consistently visible and approachable during service times

  • To assure quality and fast service and promote the banqueting activities.

The role offers a flexible 40 hours, 5 days' work out of 7.
