Job Title: Experienced (Food) Production Supervisor - Permanent


Overseeing 20 Prodction Operatives


Food Experience is essential and you must live locally


Reporting To: Factory Manager



Salary: £10.50 or £21,840 on start


2 Roles available


Hours: 40 per week, working 5 days across 7 working days.



There are two shifts available: 5.30am-2pm OR 2.30pm-12am

Job description


Working for a very established food manufacturer, my client is looking for a number of Production Supervisors due to growth, who have experience in the Food Sector.


An understanding of BRC Global Standard for Food Safety will need to be demonstrated along with an understanding of Critical Control Point (CCP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)


Based in their factory at Barking, East London, you will working closely with the Factory Manager overseeing a team of 20 production staff and will undertake an initial training period which will cover all aspects of the role. The position is a full time and permanent .


You will also need to be flexible and hands on as you will be required to assist in other areas when necessary.


Please note: The role is in the production unit which is kept at low temperature.


Key Responsibilities



  • Oversee the production process.

  • Ensure production meets standards with the highest level of food quality.

  • Ensure all food safety and health and safety in the production unit is up to the highest standards at BRC level, and ensure the team adhere to all procedures and practices.

  • Apply Continuous Improvement techniques to problem solving with your team.

  • Checking and completing process paperwork to a high standard.

  • Ensuring cleaning schedules are followed and associated paperwork completed.

  • Leading, motivating and managing the team in your department.

  • Reporting and logging process issues daily and weekly.

  • Carrying out training of staff on hygiene and equipment.

  • Leads by example: Set expectations for staff and monitors delegated activities.

  • Conduct daily Team briefing sessions with your team.

  • Ensures equipment in the area assigned is in working order and that working conditions are safe at all times.

  • Communicating with other areas and departments as required.



Essentials:



  • Min of 1-year experience in a similar food manufacturing environment working to BRC standards

  • Min of 1 year experience of leading team

  • Familiar with CCP and HACCPf leading team

  • Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Have good problem-solving skills and sense of urgency.

  • Strong Microsoft office skills.

  • Have strong decision-making skills.

  • Have attention to detail, flexible, with the ability to work in a fast passed and busy environment under pressure within tight deadlines.
