Facilities Manager


An excellent opportunity for an individual experienced with managing, coordinating and identifying facilities works, at a modern facility who are identifying areas for growth and continuous improvements this would require a Facility manger who has a keen eye for detail and good understanding for multiple types of works; plumbing, brickwork, painting, road surfacing and other facility works taking place in a large FMCG fast paced manufacturing environment. Primary purpose of the role is to make the necessary modifications to the facilities to improve the efficiency of the facility in terms of productivity and safety.


Qualities we look for;



  • Experience in similar facilities supervisory or managerial role, ability to make decisions in silo for benefit of facility.

  • A proven track record in Project Management within the Facilities Sector or a similar background.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Have previous experience in project supervision.

  • Have previous experience in pricing small works.

  • Managing to budget and controlling cost/expenditure

  • The ability to retain and develop supplier relationships.

  • A methodical and accurate approach is essential, together with an aptitude to make quick decisions especially when responding to emergency situations.

  • Can work in a proactive manner with a minimum of direct supervision and must demonstrate a flexible approach, which is essential in order to effectively undertake the requirements of this post.

  • Experience of working within a FMCG or other large scale fast paced manufacturing environment

Responsibilities;



  • Reviewing security contract - activities we're doing give secure site

  • Actively carry out monthly visual inspections of the site

  • Process map and track to enable creation of documenting the right process to ensure wider facilities team follow same process across site

  • Inspections in future to make sure everything is up to standards

  • Support with reviewing structure

  • Prepare and guide for Exec visit in September

  • Maintain good relationships with all contractors & suppliers and liaise with them regarding the servicing and periodic inspections as necessary

  • Book in relevant contractors and on-site work such works as:

  • Outsource gardening contracts

  • Roads to be resurfaced

  • Plumbing, painting etc while experts are available on site or through supplier understanding of the task required will be need to oversee works carried out

  • Supervise a facilities maintenance team who will be carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair on hard FM building services

  • Periodic meetings with onsite client's teams Facilities and Property Management.

  • Management of Subcontractors.

  • Review new work requests and provide quotations.

  • Undertake the management of new works, ensuring the completion, retention and submission of any associated documents and all works undertaken completed in line with contract/s KPI's and compliance.

  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external QA, Health & Safety and company procedures, along with the completion, retention and submission of any associated documents.

  • Complete, according to the established procedure, all the necessary documentation for the reporting of information (time management part, reports).

  • Carry out a control of the contracts that work in the plant. From placing orders to controlling jobs.

  • Observe the needs of the plant for possible investments and improvement of facilities.

  • Days: Mon-Thurs 8-5 Fri 8-14.30 (Some flexibility if required)


Compensation: your performance counts and it is attractively rewarded with a competitive salary, as this role is an initial Fixed term contract the salary will be pro rata; if required a day rate can be considered for LTD company contractors
