An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Manager on behalf of a public sector organisation based in North London.

The role will be responsible for a portfolio of properties making sure that the buildings and their services meet the needs of people that work in them.

The role will be accountable for services such as cleaning, catering, waste, access control, accommodation management, moves, security, grounds maintenance and parking, to make sure the surrounding environment is in a suitable condition to work in.

The successful applicant will have experience within facilities management and planned preventative maintenance programmes and planning, managing and implementing FM related projects. Knowledge and experience of managing and developing supplier contracts is essential.

The role is a permanent opportunity and will be based in Enfield.

Key duties will include:

  • Ensure that the portfolio of properties is 'fit for purpose' for all users of the buildings and grounds in terms of cleanliness health and safety, fire and other associated risks

  • Ensure that all statutory elements of health and safety are implemented and undertaking responsibility for monitoring first aid and emergency supplies and equipment for maintaining the premises are in a safe and healthy condition and to a high standard

  • Oversee and be responsible for all aspects of property risk management for the portfolio of properties including ensuring all necessary risk assessments are completed and the necessary checks are in place to meet audit requirements

  • In conjunction with the fire service, to be responsible for the installation and maintenance of off firefighting and fire alarm systems

  • Set up and manage an out of hours rota

  • To be the client side link to contracting staff, contribute to specifications, monitoring and review of all major contracts and services and undertake appropriate administrative processes for specifying and letting of minor contracts

  • To be responsible for all aspects of risk management, including ensuring all necessary risk assessments are completed and the necessary checks are in place to meet audit requirements

  • Input to the disaster recovery plans through consultation with others

  • Champion building user requests and maintain communications with end users where required

  • Motive external suppliers, ensure that internal and external contracts are managed correctly and that all issues are resolves satisfactorily

  • Instructing, supervising and coordinating with contractors

  • Contribute to decisions regarding property management and develop
