An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Support Worker to join a public sector organisation based in East London.


The role will provide improved outcomes for 0-18 years and families within the area, ensuring safeguarding and welfare is at the heat of all work completed. The role will work closely with families to provide outcomes, focused interventions to meet their assessed needs.


The role requires an Enhanced DBS. The successful applicant will have strong customer service skills and experience of providing in-depth targeted support for service users and their families.


Key duties will include:



  • To engage multi-agency partners to provide robust assessment, intervention and review to meet the needs of the family

  • Take on the lead professional role with a defined number of families who meet the Targeted Early Help threshold

  • Engage all family members and partners to develop a family assessment which leads to the identification of need

  • Assess the risk of all family members using relevant tools to ensure safety and well being is considered

  • Complete work with families in one-to-one and group settings

  • Lead and contribute to a range of professional meetings

  • Complete timely interventions and direct work with families and wider partnership

  • Review progress and update plans

  • Complete accurate and timely records and reports to support and evidence the work with the family

  • Provide support for families with multiple and diverse needs, including disability, mental health, domestic abuse, substance misuse, financial exclusion and deprivation
