We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a permanent field service/gas generator engineer, based in south Birmingham.


The successful candidate will work 8:30-17:30 Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch. Starting salary is £30,000 per annum plus company vehicle suitable for the role, laptop, mobile phone for business use and pension.


Main Duties:



  • Service Support for all customers relating to all products.

  • Visit different site locations as and when required

  • Dealing promptly with all customer technical/warranty requests furnished by the Service manager

  • Working with External Sales Managers to ensure effective customer management

  • Maintain accurate and up to date records for all work carried out, submitting to the Service Manager


Essential knowledge and experience



  • Technically proficient with experience of generators, and or lighting towers.

  • 16th edition electrical certificate or above.

  • Literate and numerate

  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Microsoft Excel, Word and Access


Critical skills and abilities



  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines while producing accurate work at all times

  • Excellent telephone manner

  • Good personal appearance and general organisation of work

  • Able to work as part of a team as well as under own initiative


Responsible for:



  • Delivering 100% customer service and exceeding customer expectations in all aspects of work.

  • Prioritising workload to ensure all work is completed accurately and within required deadlines.

  • Adhering to the company's policies, aims and objectives, and suggesting improvements where possible


Key Performance Indicators



  • Accuracy of work

  • Timekeeping

  • Dealings with customers (via telephone as well as face-to-face)

  • Management of personal workload and constant improvement of our systems

  • Level of support to external & internal sales staff, and prioritizing the customers' requirements
