File Preparation officer

£10.95 per hr, 30hrs per week

Located at Bournemouth Divisional HQ

12 Month Contract

The principal responsibility of the role is to the compilation, preparation and assembly of files, both pre-charge and post-charge, in accordance with strict police guidelines, ensuring that the evidence and format are of a sufficient standard to seek a pre-charge decision from the CPS and/or a successful prosecution at court, and to assist operational officers in the overall file preparation process.

Key requirements:

  • Strong administration experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure without close supervision and to tight guidelines

  • Good time management skills and the ability to use initiative and to prioritise

  • Ability to show attention to detail

  • Experience of preparing legal documents ideal (but not essential)

  • Good IT Skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to quickly gain a good understanding of bespoke IS systems
