Recruiting for a client in Richmond that is hiring for a Finance Administrator to work alongside the Finance Manager and director to ensure VAT transactions are recorded accurately.



Duties include:



  1. Ensuring the financial ledgers in Sage are properly maintained and financial transactions are properly recorded in a timely manner.

  2. Processing supplier invoices and staff expenses ensuring proper authorisation prior to payment and correct allocation between different operating areas, including credit card statements.

  3. To be responsible for reconciling property rents undertaking effective follow up with tenants, letting agents and Director of Production and Estate as necessary to ensure prompt payment.

  4. To ensure VAT is properly recorded for the various types of transactions processed in this role.

  5. To contribute to the planning and preparation of the annual accounts including assistance and support for the annual audit.

  6. To provide support to the Finance Manager and Finance Director in review and improvement to finance policies and processes to support continued efficiency and effectiveness of the finance service.

  7. To support any volunteers supporting this role in accordance with the Volunteer Handbook.

  8. To work flexibly and undertake other duties as appropriate taking account of the nature and scope of the role.


Education/Skills/Experience



  • Accounting qualification AAT or equivalent qualification by experience

  • Outstanding numerical and English language skills

  • Experience of a similar role gained within a finance department delivering a service to the whole organisation

  • Demonstrable experience of accurate submission of financial transactions

  • Experience of maintaining tight financial controls working to strict deadlines within a busy office

  • Experience of using financial software



  • Sound knowledge of financial and accounting procedures

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Knowledge of financial regulations

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to a diverse range of stakeholders

  • MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook - Intermediate level
