Adecco are currently recruiting for a Finance Officer for a prestigious university based in Central London. The Post-holder leads on the administration of CRP Small Grants and Fellowships Programmes and provides financial management support to the CRP Programme Manager, working closely with the CRP Fellowships Director, Research Directorate, CRP Country Teams and the CRP Research Manager. Working as part of the busy CRP administration team and in conjunction with relevant academic and staff at the university and partner organisations, the post holder will manage contracts, financial monitoring procedures, reporting and other grant project and fellowship related tasks.


Duties:




  • To have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the university's work practices, processes and procedures relating to all areas of financial management from expenses, budget management and forecasting, ensuring adherence to the School's financial regulations and expenses policies.

  • To provide advice and guidance to CRP small grant holders and CRP Fellows on all relevant procedures and processes and ensuring all procedures and policies are adhered to and promoting cost effectiveness where possible.

  • To process all financial transactions (invoices, expense claims, income monitoring, reimbursements, transfers etc.) for the CRP Small Grants and Fellowships programmes, ensuring that all financial transactions are conducted within the rules, boundaries and timescales of both the university and funder rules and regulations, and to develop effective, efficient and consistent processes/systems for recording this, using initiative and judgement.

  • To use the university's finance system to reconcile, raise purchase orders, produce reports and track and monitor transactions.

  • To assist the CRP Programme Manager in developing robust systems to manage and record finance data relating to the Conflict Research Programme, ensuring that accurate records are kept for reporting and monitoring both internally and externally.

  • To provide strong administrative support on all finance related matters and support the CRP Programme Manager and research grant holders where necessary and contribute to planning and costing.

  • To problem-solve on a regular basis and make recommendations for solutions, drawing on experience, knowledge and skills.

  • To monitor income and expenditure on CRP Small Grants and CRP Fellowships a day to day basis and provide regular updates to the CRP Programme Manager, CRP Research Directorate and CRP Country Directors.

  • To work independently with minimal supervision in finance matters and to escalate matters when appropriate.

  • To resolve financial expenditure enquiries with responsibility for troubleshooting finance queries and finding a suitable resolution.
