Adecco are currently recruiting for x3 Finance and Income Officers for a West-London local authority.

  • Full Time - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 35 hours per week

  • Temporary role - 3 months with possible extension

  • £19.07 per hour PAYE/ £25.02 per hour Umbrella

  • Fully remote

  • IT equipment provided

  • Paid Annual Leave entitlement (PAYE route only)

Initial interviews will be conducted via telephone. The successful candidates will then meet with the manager in person for a follow up and IT collection in Ealing.

Top three key skills/requirements for this position are:

  • To have lead responsibility for administering council income through the application of procedures, adherence to policy and the implementation of robust systems to manage the collection of rent from residents occupying Bed and Breakfast, Hostel LIAs, Private Managed and Private Sector Lease Accommodations.

  • In this role it will be your responsibility that Housing Benefit and the housing element of universal credit is paid for all customers in temporary accommodations to reduce arrears levels, maximise the income for the Council and sustain tenancies by investigating the reasons for non-payment and resolving issues.

  • The successful candidate will have lead responsibility for ensuring the ending of tenancy through the NTQ process for non-payment of temporary accommodation charges and accumulation of rent arrears, attending court and representing the council at possession hearings

1. Experience of working in a housing environment
2. Experience of dealing with rent accounts for a local authority or Housing Association.
3. Experience of using IT, databases, information system and MS Office
4. Experience of attending court to give evidence of rent arrears to obtain a possession and money judgement order 5. Knowledge of the regulations governing the award of housing and welfare benefits. 6. Ability to create and update excel spreadsheets. 7. Knowledge of relevant housing legislation 8. Ability to deal effectively with customers, provide information and advice 9. Good communication skills - verbal and written
