Business Partner


The Finance BP fully contributes to and has joint accountability with senior team members for the success of the region. Specifically, the Finance BP will:



  • Have a clear strategic vision for how the region can succeed in the future and play an active part in the establishment of the overall plans to deliver on this vision.

  • Know the region, its operating context, the market, and the financial position and can use data to identify trends and future internal and external financial issues.

  • Understand the financial drivers of the organisation and how to maximise use of resources as well as supporting the Operations Director to drive the vision of how the region needs to grow and develop.


Balance Sheet Manager


The Finance BP understands the importance of controlling the balance sheet and of the implications of making best use organisationally of available financial resources.


Audit & Control


The Finance BP has responsibility for assuring and reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner on the completeness, accuracy and reliability of all financial information within the region. As part of the community of Finance professionals, the Finance BP sets and/or follows best practice and is prepared to challenge colleagues where necessary.


Data & Knowledge Expert


The Finance Business Partner is responsible for ensuring that the regional SMT has access to a set of data that facilitates good business decision making. Although not responsible for collecting data, the Finance BP should be able to highlight gaps in data, spot inaccuracies and make positive suggestions as to how these can be addressed. The Finance BP should support the use of central data repositories and reporting processes, rather than encouraging the creation of local data sets.

Experience



  • Experience of providing business finance support to a large, complex division

  • Extensive finance experience/skills, including high level of accuracy and integrity

  • Experience of strategic business planning

  • Experience of working in a matrix management structure, managing multiple relationships

  • Experience of risk management

  • Experience of managing and developing staff


Knowledge



  • Knowledge of financial standards and procedures

  • Knowledge of financial and business planning theories, frameworks and tools.

  • Knowledge of sector


Qualifications



  • Accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar
