Job Title: Finance Officer (6 months FTC)

Salary Grade: £26,000

Responsible to: Finance Director

Hours of work: 37.5 hrs per week

Line Management Responsibility for: No line management responsibilities at this time.

Job Purpose

To assist the Finance Director in their management of the group's financial systems. To assist with financial and non-financial administrative tasks that may from time to time be necessary within a busy head office.

Main tasks - Duties include but are not limited to:

Purchase ledger (Group & subsidiaries)

  • Logging, processing and filing supplier invoices & credits in a timely manner

  • Payment run processing - end of month

  • Posting and monitoring head office petty cash

  • Investigating purchase ledger queries

  • Liaising with suppliers

  • Maintaining the accuracy of supplier details & information

  • Processing employee & company expenses

  • Assisting with resolving queries & reporting

  • Monitoring accounts email inbox

  • Producing reports

Sales ledger (Group & subsidiaries)

  • Raising sales invoices & credits in a timely manner

  • Allocating monies received

  • Producing and reconciling statement of accounts

  • Investigating queries

  • Liaising with external contacts

  • Producing reports

General ledger (Group & subsidiaries)

  • Daily bank reconciliations

  • Complete management of credit card system

  • Month end reconciliations

  • Department analysis reports

General Duties

  • To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and, in turn, encourage and support staff in their development and training.

  • To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are deemed consistent with the general level of responsibility of this position.

  • To undertake health and safety duties commensurate with the post and/or as detailed in Expects Health and Safety Policy.

  • To comply with Expects Policy and Procedures.

  • To undertake any other duties and/or responsibilities in connection with the leadership and management of the Charity as the Chair (or other member of the Board of Directors) may from time to time direct.
