We are currently recruiting for a Finance Transformation Support Officer role for a 12 Month fixed term contract within Higher Education . The annual salary is between £36,925-£45,762 and to start as soon as possible.


Purpose of the Post


Working at a leading University based in South West London the role will support the delivery of Finance transformation projects by conducting process and technology reviews, identifying and implementing improvements using programme specified Lean methodologies and tools. You will conduct process & data analysis, collect metrics and collate the outputs into project deliverables - e.g. process models, baseline, spend data reports, optimised processes.


Working to the agreed PMO standards, you will support the Finance Managers and workstream leads in scoping workstreams, planning and reporting.


Key Responsibilities



  • Supports Financial Services & Procurement and Financial Management projects in undertaking process reviews using operational excellence / Lean methodologies and tools and techniques to improve overall performance.

  • Create process maps, collect metrics and establish a baseline to feed into target operating models.

  • Conducts analysis to elicit business requirements and specify effective business processes, obtaining formal agreement from stakeholders. Identifies the impact on business requirements of external impacts affecting a project. Investigates and applies approved changes to requirements scope.

  • Support Solution Architects in the development of the integrated service design, solution architecture and associated detailed design deliverables.

  • To carry out analysis of supplier spend data, providing reports and visual outputs

  • Works with the technical delivery and support teams on the development and support of applications and solutions.

  • ​ Ensure project deliverables are to agreed standard of quality.

  • Co-ordinates User Acceptance Testing activities, undertaking and delegating testing as required.

  • Supports the Finance and ICT staff in ensuring a smooth deployment of process and technology improvements.



  • Designs functional testing strategies and scripts, and manages user acceptance testing.

  • Drafts subject matter content for review.

  • Identifies and communicates project interdependencies, risks and issues to the Project Manager(s) / Project Boards

  • Provides project support, including workshop and meeting preparation, notes, actions and decisions outputs.


Desirable Experience:



  • Workshop facilitation for process mapping, production of process maps, metrics and baselines

  • A background in business, requirements, process review and improvement.

  • Presenting data and concepts to users and senior stakeholders.

  • Data analysis and producing reports and visual outputs

  • Planning and progressing work activities within general and professional guidelines; setting objectives, milestones and implementing regular reviews to evaluate progress.

  • Experience of driving forward collaborative efforts across teams.
