Adecco Stevenage have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Planning Assistant to join a leading Financial Planner based in Stevenage! The successful candidate will be expected to have sound technical knowledge and be working towards your Level 4 CMI Diploma in Financial Planning, if not already qualified.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Ensure and maintain the highest levels of service to clients, making sure financial advice is both suitable for the client(s) and compliant with industry regulations

  • Provide Vital support to the Financial Planners in servicing existing client base and when taking on new clients

  • Writing suitability reports

  • Conducting research on behalf of Financial Planners e.g. O&M pension switch, IRESS protection and annuity research, cost comparisons, matching ATR with funds

  • Liaising with Financial Planners to identify business opportunities - annual review packs, new business

  • Liaising with Richmond House Investment Management team regarding our DFM service

  • Instructing withdrawals on client accounts (DFM and non-DFM)

  • New business processing/submitting

  • General emails/administration

  • Maintain positive relations with insurers, providers and their representatives

  • Dealing with client queries raised by either client, provider or financial planner

  • Keeping knowledge up to date and to notify colleagues of any relevant developments

  • Complying with the FCA Rulebook and the firm's internal procedures at all times

  • Be a good communicator, keeping Financial Planners and Private Client Manager up to date with client work

  • Be willing to share knowledge, skills and experience with others to collectively develop the team and improve the service we provide

  • Be proactive, offering new and improved ways of working

  • Have strong attention to detail, following workflows carefully and ensuring documentation is produced to a high standard

  • Be professional, with a good telephone manner, punctual and smart

  • Be assertive, willing to have constructive conversations for the good of the client and the organisation



Additional Beneficial Attributes:



  • Good working knowledge of Intelligent Office (iO), our client database

  • Experience of key provider software including Standard Life Wrap, Elevate, Ascentric and Aegon/Aegon ARC platforms

  • Experience using Genovo, the suitability report writing tool

  • Experience using O&M for research pension switches

  • Strong pension experience, including knowledge of older pension schemes, occupational and safeguarded benefits and SIPPs

  • Inheritance tax planning knowledge, including BPR and EIS schemes

  • Knowledge of VCT schemes



You will be supported by a Business Assistant to fulfill the administrative duties necessary when Financial Planners conduct annual reviews and new business meetings. You will be responsible for the preparation and execution of this client work.
