Factory Operative

We are currently recruiting Factory Operatives to work at Walkers Snack Foods in Leicester, LE4 1BS. This is world's largest crisp factory producing millions of bags every day. It's already a great plant but our ambition is to make it even greater. We not only want to be the largest crisp factory in the world, we want to be the best and that's where you come in!

What will I be doing as a Factory Operative at Walkers?

  • Transporting raw materials to line side

  • Loading stock including hand-stacking and hand-packing

  • Replenishing cartons and completing re-work

  • Moving pallets from one area to another for re-distribution

  • Labelling

  • Sifting, sorting and removal

  • Taking ownership of housekeeping standards

  • Understanding and interpreting numerical data

  • Communicating confidently both verbally and in written form (some data entry may be required)

  • Providing flexibility and cover to all GSO roles (Support job rotation and break cover)

What will I need for this role as a Factory Operative?

  • A strong work ethic and loyal ethos ensuring standards are maintained

  • A flexible attitude with a real desire to learn and progress

  • Ability to follow and interpret instructions / rules verbally and numerically whilst proactively escalating issues which may prevent targets or standards being met

  • High attention to detail, accuracy and capacity to work at a fast pace

  • Strong communication skills on all levels

  • Able to work on your own or within small teams
