Adecco Northumberland are delighted to support our client in their search for a Funding and compliance officer within the Ashington area.We are looking for one candidate to place on a 3 month probation who want to be awarded with a contract - please note, this is not a short term temporary placement.

Purpose of the role:



  • Provide a wide variety of compliance, project & administrative support to project staff, ensuring that all appropriate documentation is obtained and accurately processed in accordance to funding requirements to enable timely monitoring of financial performance against projections and to maximise eligible project spend.



  • Ensure that all funding Eligibility criteria are adhered to, including state aid, publicity and procurement requirements.



  • Ensure all project expenditure invoices are authorised by relevant signatories and are logged on financial claim tracking spreadsheets. Maintain spreadsheets, as the basis of claims, and ensure accurate input of data is supported by valid evidence and defrayal information where relevant. Highlight any discrepancies to minimise audit risk.


Duties and responsibilities:



  • Check, collate and file evidence for claims purposes ensuring the filing set-up and maintenance adheres to funding legislation requirements.

  • Responsible for complete and accurate evidencing of SME eligibility (including state aid) all MI/ deliverable requirements and all output/ result/ impact evidence.

  • Duties of in-house project administration for external communication with clients/ providers/ others on behalf of the Compliance and Delivery team.

  • Develop & maintain knowledge & understanding of the processes, procedures and current relevant governmental/ European contract legislation/ guidance

  • Lead on procurement of discretionary office supplies/ consumables/ general office equipment etc as directed: ensuring best value, competitive prices and adherence to European & Governmental procurement procedures for relevant resources (staff, equipment etc)

  • Maintain audit trails as required

  • Develop and maintain an up to date knowledge of the project database system & Funder MI systems: assist with MI reporting for funding requirements logging and updating beneficiary information in an accurate & timely manner

  • To undertake general administration duties, to include filing, photocopying, faxing, purchase orders, contracts and quotes.

  • Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct at all times with customers, colleagues and other business networks/partnerships and to make a contribution to developing and improving customer services in a customer focused environment to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • To undertake such other duties and responsibilities as are specified by the Company as required are commensurate with the level of the post.

  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of the contents of the Company Handbook, and comply with all policies, procedures and standards including all procedures required to maintain quality accreditations.

  • Maintain Continuous Professional Development log of all training/ events attended

  • This post is part funded through various public & EU funded projects. Allocation to projects will be determined by the SMT. Where necessary, time Sheets must be kept clearly allocating actual time spent on each project

  • The post holder may be expected to be available outside normal office hours


This role will provide flexibility and WFH opportunities, the candidate should be willing to WFH or on site when needed.
