Job Details



  • To accurately, prepare, maintain, post centrally, manually accounted financial transactions to the UK dealership branches on a timely basis, to maintain and complete the accounting records of the brand This will include bank, commissions, bonuses, purchase card transactions, fixed asset transactions and their associated depreciation, and specific vehicle related transactions. Maintain procedures and compliance with financial aspects of internal and Group policies, for the UK dealership businesses.

  • Assist the Accounting Manager manage and control the financial accounting and reporting of the company group of dealerships, meeting all required deadlines.

  • Assist the Accounting Manager in the preparation of the Annual Statutory Accounts.


Skills Specification



  • Ideally educated to degree level , as a minimum possessing a good spread of A-level and GCSE qualifications appropriate to a position in finance, and with experience in an accounting function posting financial transactions at double entry level, not just purchase or sales ledger experience.

  • AAT / ACCA or CIMA studying would be ideal.

  • Experience of dealership operations and working knowledge of the Kerridge Dealership Management system (DMS) is an advantage. This position will liaise with all levels of the Central Finance team, and a broad range of positions within the company dealer group from Director Level down to staff level in both the dealerships and Head Office. Hence experience of both working with and influencing at all these levels is essential.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are desirable, especially in Excel.

  • Experience of dealership finance is desirable, but training will be given as required.

  • The individual would be required to be positive, methodical and conscientious in their approach to work.

  • Ability to assess tasks, identify problems, react swiftly and accurately are important to this role.

  • In addition excellent communication abilities with all levels of staff and management are fundamental.

  • The ability to both work methodically to standard policies and procedures, but adapting and innovating where a situation requires this, on his own/her own initiative would be expected.

  • The composition and structure of the department requires the jobholder to be very much a "team player".

  • Ability to see beyond their own job when assessing the likely impacts of decisions they take, what the consequences could be, and how others might be impacted, is essential.
