Adecco UK are recruiting for General ledger Clerks for one of our prestigious clients! This will be a work from home role with the rare visit to the office.

Title: General Ledger Clerk

Duration: 2-3 months (Potential to be extended)

Location: - Coventry/Hybrid

Hours: 37.5 Monday to Friday

Primary Purpose of Role

To accurately, prepare, maintain, post centrally, manually accounted financial transactions on a timely basis, to maintain and complete the accounting records. This will include monthly commissions, monthly payroll journals,weekly bonuses, weekly RFL's, weekly sundries run, daily DTR processing, monthly inter-company charges, monthly Free 2 Move charges, daily bank TT's, daily update and setting up of purchase ledger accounts, purchase card transactions and specific vehicle related transactions. Maintain procedures and compliance with financial aspects of internal and Group policies. To investigate dealer queries on a daily basis and correct any mis-postings found. To confirm whether the dealers balance sheet reconciliations are in line with Group standards and to hold the dealers accountable for any unreconciled accounts. To investigate various accruals/prepayments against quotes/invoices and to complete the monthly process for sampling journal entries across the group. Assist the Accountant to manage and control the accounting and the consolidated financial reporting, covering all the of necessary dealerships, meeting all required deadlines.

Role Profile

Good rapport and a professional, tactful and persuasive manner at all times, Good knowledge, understanding and comprehension of the various interfaces that are posted (bonuses ,payroll, commissions etc) All reconciliations of bonuses, payroll, commissions are completed to a consistently adequate, and high standard. A keen eye and attention to detail is required in all accounting aspects of this role. An innovative approach to resolve issues as they arise, swiftly, is necessary to succeed. Errors at the dealer level are a common occurrence, and must be both identified and resolved rapidly to avoid missing deadlines. Alerting the Accountant swiftly to reporting issues arising as a consequence of actions / errors elsewhere in the geographically diverse business. High level of Microsoft skills required to produce well structured and documented processes and to properly maintain and constantly review them. Skilled accounting knowledge is essential for the role in order to resolve incorrect financial transactions and to clarify whether the dealership account reconciliations are correct and in line with Group standards.

Excellent excel knowledge and experience, AAT part Qualified with some dealership accounting experience is desirable. (Not essential)
