Head of Outreach


Location: Greenwich


Salary: £56,671


Duration: Beginning of September


Working pattern: 2 days on campus (flexible for 3 as when required) and two days at home


Contract type: One-year Fixed Term Contract - permanent


Adecco is currently recruiting for a Head of Outreach to join a prestigious university based in Greenwich.


Roles and responsibilities



  • Lead on the development, execution, and evaluation of the of the universities schools, colleges, and community outreach strategy, and the pathways and partnerships plan to achieve outstanding results from existing/new channels and pathways development.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the pre-entry outreach aspects of the Access and Participation Plan.

  • To ensure that projects, interventions, systems, processes, and communications are optimised, tailored to groups/individual audiences, and aligned to providing an effective outreach service to achieve targets.

  • To monitor internal and external developments relating to the pre-entry educational landscape, innovation and technological advances in outreach education, and legislative policy changes to lead on opportunities and proactive responses to these changes.

  • Oversee the delivery and development of a high-quality and innovative physical and digital outreach programme to maximise attainment, enrolments, and successful transition.



  • Manage the education support budget, including monitoring the impact of activities.

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders in Faculties and Directorates to oversee and coordinate subject specialist outreach activity and pathways development that is applicant focused, inclusive, and supports recruitment and APP targets.

  • To maintain a strong knowledge and professional level of expertise of the University portfolio and to be fully conversant with pre-entry safeguarding, and procedures to ensure compliance with external and university policies.t

  • Overall responsibility for the effective performance and team management of Education Support.

  • To assist more widely in the development of appropriate Directorate and University strategies to improve recruitment and support the University's objectives.

  • Represent the Directorate on various working groups, committees and programme boards as and when required.



  • Support wider university projects including Open Days, Confirmation, Clearing and Welcome.

  • Lead regular and timely team meetings to ensure that the team delivers against strategic objectives set by the Director of Communications and Recruitment.
