Have a basic knowledge of health and safety requirements relevant to events and building services operations
To learn, develop and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the set up and workings of AV equipment across all sites
Basic computer knowledge to include ability to use events software to check room setups and ensuring all rooms are cleaned and setup as per description/ floor plan where required

To elaborate, the function of FM porter is to support the internal staff at Perceval House, with any requests they may have (e.g. meeting room setup, equipment loan, printer faults etc.). The role is very customer facing role and will need to greet staff members both in person and/or via telephone calls and email.

Shift times for a 35 hours per week porter:
Early shift 06:00 - 13:30
Late shift is 13:00 - 20:30
These shift times are subject to change depending on business needs Some of the daily duties are listed

Moving/carrying up to 400 chairs and up to 25 tables when setting up rooms, scrubbing and mopping and drying of large halls in both Ealing and Greenford Hall.

* Entrances and area immediately outside of Events room clean & clear of obstructions
* Check room temperature and switch on heating or provide cooling as required
* Rubbish removed, Bins empty & clean
* Room is setup as per setup sheets and remove any furniture which isn't required, ensure furniture is clean
* AV equipment booked and set up correctly-all cables taped down, projector stand straight and new batteries in mics
* Water is out and correct number of cups for people attending
* Water urn is clean, water up to line and switched on 15mins before event
* Sweep, Mop & Hoover meeting rooms, Wooden flooring to be scrubbed and polished

Assist in the distribution of cleaning consumables to cleaning cupboards on floors as directed. Ensuring deliveries on the loading bay and in the cage are stored at a safe height, easily accessible and fire exits and walkways are kept clear.
Ensure wooden pallets, unwanted items are disposed of correctly, request skip hire as and when required. Undertake out any reactive porterage requests as directed by help desk.

* Calendar- Ensure equipment is ready for hire, help is available where required and stalls/rooms are set up.
* Emails- Respond to requests accordingly.
* Ad hoc tasks- Examples include but are not limited to updating the key request log, ordering stationary, moving equipment and dealing with locker/pedestal faults.
* Printers- Ensure all machines are jam-free, filled with paper every day and supplied with toner and where necessary faults are promptly reported to Ealing Helpdesk and Printer faults.
* Paper- Each printer area should have a sufficient stock of paper (around 6 boxes).
