Salary:£36,000 - £38,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 08:00-17:00, Friday 08:00-15:15 39.5 hours

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes

  • Responsible for the maintenance of plant equipment to minimise production down time and to identify and rectify all electrical problems on all forming machines and process equipment within the Hot end of the plant

  • To liaise with other departments on a regular basis to help minimise downtime

  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing equipment, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate and troubleshoot problems

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures within the Hot end

  • Electrical maintenance of Hot End equipment to minimise production down time

Ideal Candidate

Essential Skills:

  • Time served electrical engineering technician - Level 3 / ONC / City & Guilds qualified

  • Experience working within a fast paced industrial manufacturing environment

  • Strong knowledge of complex electrical systems, including involving PLC's, Servo motors, and VFD's

  • Experience with industrial networks, such as Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, Asi bus and Modbus

  • Ability to read electrical schematics

  • Capable of working with minimum supervision

  • Good communication skills

Desirable Skills:

  • HNC/ HND electrical engineering

  • 18th Edition wiring regs

  • HV experience

  • Experience working on gas burner systems

  • Experience using SAP

  • CMMS ( Computerised Maintenance Management System) experience
