£21.42 HOURLY RATE (PAYE)


MONDAY - FRIDAY 9am - 5pm


3 MONTH CONTRACT (POSSIBILITY OF BEING EXTENDED)

HOUSING OPTIONS MANAGER'S PURPOSE:


To lead and manage an effective housing advice and homelessness service which manages the council's statutory duties to all households presenting as homeless or threatened with homelessness.



HOUSING OPTIONS MANAGERS MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for the provision of high quality services associated with the homelessness function; including all homeless prevention, housing options, assessments and the discharge of statutory duties to homeless households.

  • Ensure the effective operation of the front-line reception and telephone advisory.

  • Provide leadership and management of staff teams to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery.

  • To monitor a range of SLA and contracts in relation to homelessness and prevention and housing advice.

  • Review and develop operational policies, procedures and initiatives to manage change to achieve continuous improvement.

  • Responsible for the day to day management and monitoring of delegated budgets.

  • Write and present reports, presentations and other documents to a variety of internal and external audiences.



A HOUSING OPTIONS MANAGER NEEDS TO HAVE:



  • Broad knowledge and appreciation of the problems faced by those in housing needs.

  • Experience with successfully managing busy front-line staff, providing housing assessments, options, advice and floating support.

  • Experience with achieving performance targets - individual and team

  • Experience with report writing, maintaining records and producing statistics

  • Relevant housing qualification or extensive housing experience.
