We are looking to recruit a HR Administrator to join a busy HR department for a professional, innovative company based on the outskirts of Carlisle (West).


Aims and purpose of the job


To assist with the administration in the HR department to ensure that work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with relevant legislation.


Duties to Include



  • Dealing with recruitment and selection of staff, from receipt of the vacancy request through to arranging interviews and notifying successful/unsuccessful candidates.

  • Receiving web and other job enquiries and passing to the relevant manager for a decision before processing.

  • Preparing new starter documentation and arranging induction appointments.

  • Undertaking HR administrative duties in relation to probation reviews, appraisals, DSE, manual handling and any other matters that arise.

  • Ensuring that staff data, information and records are complaint with relevant legislation and secure at all times.

  • Maintaining and updating computer records in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Assist, when required, with all aspects of the department.

  • Planning, managing and prioritising your own workflow to ensure targets and deadlines are met.

  • Ensuring there is clear communication with your line manager and other team members on work being carried out.

  • Helping your line manager identify ways to improve and develop the department.

  • Dealing with all communications in a timely manner and ensuring they are of a high professional standard.

  • Taking full responsibility for all work and tasks assigned to you.


Desirable Skills



  • Strong administration and organisational skills.

  • Experience in HR would be an advantage.

  • The ability to communicate in a confidential manner and dealing with sensitive information in a professional manner.
