Our client in the education sector are currently seeking a Temporary HR Advisor (possible Temp to Perm) to support the HR team in Harrow. The right candidate will need to have an enthusiastic and positive manner as you will be building strong relationships with Partners and Managers. They must be able to work flexibly at a different site in Uxbridge when required. The HR Advisor must have the ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities. They will need good knowledge of employment law and experience of working with HR information systems.

The role is full time (36 hours per week), Mon to Thu 09:00 - 17:15, Friday 09:00 - 17:00


  • Provide a personal, effective and efficient service to departments within the college ensuring high quality advice and assistance on appropriate human resources issues

  • To complete in a timely manner the performance appraisal of staff with in the post holder responsibility

  • In conjunction with the HR Manager to be the first point of advice and support to managers dealing with more complex staffing issues, this includes sickness absence, probationary periods, maternity/ paternity leave, capability and disciplinary issues.

  • Ensure payroll changes are correctly completed and within the relevant monthly deadlines

  • As may be required the post holder will support colleagues within the HR department to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient HR services

  • Assist the Training and Development Advisor with Mentoring Training for new staff. Deliver Mentoring training programmes for line managers as and when required. Cover for the Training and Development Advisor in delivering the College Induction Day when required.

Qualifications / Skills Required:

  • Level 5 CIPD qualification or willing to work towards

  • Excellent IT Skills (Microsoft Word/Excel)

  • Enhanced DBS required (if you do not have one you must be prepared to take one)
