£22,000 - £25,000 per annum pro rata


Part-time (25 hours per week) (Working over 4 - 5 days)

The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team is integral to the position. We are currently recruiting for a HR Assistant to join our HR department. This role is to assist HR Officer to provide an effective and efficient support to staff, advising on policies, procedures, and best practice. The role is varied and challenging and is involved in all aspects of personnel role. The successful candidate will work closely with HR Officer and other departments to provide an information resource for both employees and the senior management team.

The successful candidate must enjoy working with people, be patient, tactful, diplomatic and approachable and should be able to stay calm in difficult situations.


  • Assisting with recruitment process: creating job descriptions, advertising vacancies internally and externally and arranging interviews.

  • Arranging new starter paperwork, preparing and conducting induction.

  • Ensure probationary reviews are conducted effectively and within required timescales.

  • Supporting internal and external enquiries related to HR department.

  • Compiling and maintaining paper, digital and electronic employee records.

  • Maintain holiday records, adding holidays to time & attendance system and Company Calendar.

  • Monitor staff sickness and absence through the Bradford Factor process.

  • Support with management of employee's bi-annual appraisal cycle.

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to HR Officer.

  • Assist with ensuring that HR Policies, Procedures and Employee Handbook are updated in line with statutory requirements and good practice. Ensuring these are regularly reviewed and continuously improved.

  • Manage and update Alldays time & attendance system.

  • Attend disciplinary, performance, grievance and investigation meetings in the capacity of a note taker.

  • Manage employee departures and conducting exit interviews.

  • Support HR Officer in delivering HR Projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR Processes, documents and services.

  • Forwarding payroll information to Assistant Accountant.


  • Computer Literate inclusive of Microsoft Office suite

  • HR work experience

  • CIPD qualification - level 3

  • Working knowledge of HR functions and best practices

  • Effective Communication - verbal and written

  • Organisational Skills, logical thinking

  • Be able to collate, analyse, interpret and present information.
