Adecco are recruiting for a HR Business Consultant to work remotely for a West London local authority.

  • Temp role - 3 months (possible extension)

  • £24.03 per hour PAYE / £31.10 per hour Umbrella

Although it is not essential, it would be desirable if candidates have experience of supporting Children's Services e.g. Social Workers. We need a confident, experienced HR generalist who is able to hit the ground running, picking up issues quickly and being able to read and interpret HR policies and procedures quickly so as to be able to advise and support managers on actions they need to undertake, with a focus on solutions and moving things on. Need to be approachable and good at building trusted relationships quickly.

They will be the main point of contact for staff, middle managers and senior managers for a client group of approximately 350+.

1. Ability to build and sustain effective relationships with customers with a high level of interpersonal, influencing, communication and verbal/written presentation skills.
2. Ability to demonstrate business awareness and knowledge of operational management issues.
3. Ability to coach managers to increase manager competency and confidence to deal with people management issues.
4. Knowledge and understanding of HR and employment legislation including equality and diversity issues.
5. Knowledge of job evaluation processes and systems, pay and reward frameworks and pay related legislation.
6. Ability to work proactively, displaying good organisational, planning & time management skills and demonstrate drive and focus to achieve results.
7. Ability to write reports and develop & deliver presentations.
8. Ability to analyse data and identify trends.
9. IT skills including effective use of Internet & Intranet, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and the ability to use Human Resource Management Information Systems (HRMIS).
10. Knowledge of workforce planning approaches & resourcing, HR standards, benchmarking and performance indicators.
11. Knowledge of Project management skills, and track record of successful planning and delivery.


1) MCIPD or equivalent HR professional qualification or appropriate relevant HR experience in a complex organisation.
2) Evidence of continuous professional development
3) Experience in advising on people management and HR issues, including the implementation of employment legislation, HR policy, equalities and diversity approaches and best practice.
4) Experience of organisational review and change management/culture change, preferably in a large/complex organisation.
5) Experience in consultation, facilitation, mediation with staff, their representatives and other key stakeholders.
6) Experience in developing and deploying successful recruitment and/or retention, and/or pay and reward initiatives.
7) Experience in researching and drafting policy and/or contributing to policy development and implementation.
