My client who is a national energy sourcing business are currently in the process of hiring a forward thinking HR Business Partner to join their already thriving team based in London City (please not the role is based remotely for the time being) If you consider yourself to be switched on, innovative and confident in your profession, please read on.


The role:


The HR Business Partner works in partnership with business leaders particularly those within the Transformation and Corporate Affairs teams to diagnose the team's requirements of its people. This role is central and critical for the medium- and longer-term strategy. The HR Business Partner will utilise their HR expertise and commercial understanding to ensure that the appropriate interventions are in place, which could include challenging, supporting and coaching business leaders to deliver through their people; challenging current ways of working; developing change initiatives themselves or by; commissioning work from the Centre's of Excellence.


Purpose:



  • To use knowledge and business acumen and work in a client management capacity with management teams to make a positive impact in key areas such as; effective leadership and management of change, organisational design, employee engagement and strategic resource planning, talent and improving individual and collective performance.

  • To be the gateway between the business and the Centres of Excellence brokering solutions as appropriate. Sharing knowledge and insights with the wider HR team to help shape the best intervention and implementation strategy.

  • Support business change by coaching, developing and where appropriate; giving people leaders the confidence, skills and capability to successfully lead smaller changes themselves. Ensuring that leaders understand the potential risk and costs associated with not being legal.

  • To have a detailed understanding of the skill sets, capability, talent potential for succession in roles, of the people in their designated business area; alongside understanding the external employment market for people with the similar skill sets and capabilities.

  • To contextualise and evaluate solutions in a wider external context by understanding the changing nature of work, the political landscape and understanding what they can learn from what others are doing, in Utilities and other sectors


Duties included but not limited to



  • Comprehensive understanding of the business strategy and challenges this creates for the teams which sit within Corporate Affairs and Transformation

  • Be the HR/People lead in ensuring the relevant areas of Corporate Affairs and Transformation are organised and structured in the right way ensuring the team aligns to the fit for the future transformation strategy(mainly the HR and Internal Communications team)

  • Reviews HR trends and metrics; provide insight, challenge and support and proactively work with the business to develop solutions to improve business performance.

  • Works alongside business leaders and their management teams to challenge, support and coach them in the delivery of business plan through their people.

  • Develops people plans and interventions to ensure that performance is raised, and the business plan is delivered. In addition, ensuring that there are plans in place that builds the capability to deliver the business plans of the future.

  • Ensures any required changes or initiatives are aligned and optimised with the people plan for the whole Group.

  • Delivers an effective service that reinforces the HR model, i.e. the HR Business Partner facilitates and prioritise the demand on the services and expertise of the Centres of Excellence.

  • Reviews change outcomes and their contribution to achieving business strategy thereby driving continuous improvement.

  • Coaches and develops people leaders, building their skills and competency to manage and maximise their effectiveness and performance and that of their teams

  • Builds and maintains relationships with Trade Union representatives and other employee forums as required.

  • Communicates and drives the HR plan; both operational excellence in business-as-usual and transformational change.

  • Drives excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Policy.

  • Demonstrates relentless drive, energy and determination to deliver sustainable high performance and rigorously achieves against demanding sector leading customer service.

  • Ensures that robust financial management and commercial awareness form the foundation of all business decisions, aligning local activities with company plans

  • Provides HRBP support to other areas of Core Services or the wider HR team as may be required from time to time
