This is an exciting opportunity to join our client as a HR Consultant in the area Surrey to work mostly from home.


Start date: ASAP
Hours: Full Time
Salary: £18.85 PH PAYE




  1. Provide an effective and efficient HR advisory service on all HR matters and working within the relevant Service Level Agreement.




  1. Provide solution based advice in relation to all HR matters.




  1. To advise on contentious and complex areas of HR work, including restructures, redundancies, disciplinaries, grievances, under performing staff and absence management. This includes designing and advising on strategy and ensuring that HR policies and procedures are followed.




  1. Monitor and report on HR practices across the organisation, ensuring an equitable and consistent application of procedures and policies




  1. Provide timely and accurate management information required on all casework to ensure that progress against SLAs and Key Performance Indicators are monitored and reported on.




  1. Manage resources and workload effectively so that all deadlines are fully met whilst sustaining high levels of service.




  1. Support the Senior HR Advisor and other HR Advisors within the professional services team by carrying out continuous quality assurance monitoring on work within the team.




  1. Provide a professional and independent input to the recruitment and selection processes where applicable ensuring that the requirements of the Warner report are fully met where necessary.




  1. Act as a consultant on behalf of Personnel and Training and undertake specific project work as required.




  1. To assist in developing and delivering training to Managers and Headteachers on personnel practice.




  1. To contribute as necessary to the development of all personnel policies and procedures and to keep up to date on legislative changes.




  1. Undertake any tasks commensurate with the HR Advisor grade which support the plans and objectives of the Personnel and Training Section, including project work as and when required.




  1. Consistently apply the principles of equal opportunities as embodied in the client policies and practices in order to promote equality of opportunity for all employees.



  • Solid ER background with experience of supporting managers from queries to dismissal

  • Coaching skills - supporting managers and colleagues

  • Supporting Change Management projects
