HR Leading Practitioner for Schools - EALING


3 months - possible extension


Combination of working in the office, visiting schools in the borough and working from home. It is difficult to establish the exact split but would be in the office or visiting schools 3 to 4 days a week and working from home 1 to 2 days a week.


£29.48 PH PAYE - Umbrella options available


We are looking to recruit a knowledgeable HR practitioner to join the Schools HR Consultancy team at Ealing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial focus alongside experience of internal HR consultancy or business partnering in a unionised schools environment. Your knowledge and skills will command credibility with our key stakeholders

You will have successful experience of dealing with and resolving people management issues in schools and be familiar with the employment responsibilities of schools, governing boards and headteachers.

You will need to be able to provide a wide range of HR services to schools, particularly supporting headteachers to manage people and dealing with complex casework as well as short term projects.

You will be able to work with minimum supervision and take on your own caseload very soon after starting.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


1 Leading and contributing to projects and tasks requiring a people Management input.
2 Membership of task and working groups established to support multi school programmes (e.g. national change in policy) or single school interventions (e.g. failing school)
3 Attending and contributing to meetings of school senior leadership teams and governing bodies as required.
4 Nurture and maintain effective employee relations through consultation and negotiation with employers, employees and trade unions
5 Work with service partners, e.g. Ealing Learning Partnership (ELP) , to (a) contribute to the maintenance and achievement of the highest possible standards in schools and (b) provide support when schools require intervention from the LA
6 Work, consult and network with external partners to build knowledge and capacity that supports our schools in their people management responsibilities
7 Coach, mentor and support headteachers, governors and senior managers
on HR best practice in order to improve people management practices and facilitate the management of a high performing workforce
8 Representing the views of schools in the development and implementation of
HR policies and practices
9 Acting as a co-ordinator to link other HR and client colleagues in delivering services to schools
10 Encouraging and facilitating the practice of knowledge sharing to improve and embed effective people management within schools
