Are you a HR Manager with generalist and employee relations experience looking to start a new role in March? This contract could be for you. This is a fixed term contact for the duration of 7 months minimum.

Purpose of the role:

To provide a comprehensive HR service to multiple independent schools. Reporting to the Director of People, you will
guide and advise on the HR processes and policies and all day to day HR operations.

The HR Manager will:
● Be the first point of contact for all HR queries.
● Work closely across multiple sites, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and
● Support with all aspects of recruitment and talent management, including the production and
development of job descriptions, listing job vacancies, sourcing, and shortlisting applicants and
helping to coordinate and conduct interviews.
● Manage the new starter onboarding process; inductions, contracts, offer letters, right to work and
background reference checks, probation, and benefits.
● Help instill equality and diversity into the culture of the organisation.
● Prepare and amend HR documents and policies where necessary, i.e. employment contracts
employee handbook etc. in line with current legislation.
● Keeping abreast of human resources developments and employment law, ensuring continued
company compliance in applying best practice, within the business' needs.
● Develop and implement policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management,
equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and absence management.
● Support with performance reviews / appraisals.
● Manage any grievances and implement disciplinary procedures when required.
● Work collaboratively with department managers to outline training needs.
● Completing exit interviews at the earliest opportunity, providing feedback to the management team
and identifying actions across the business to improve staff retention.
● Ensure Human Resources matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and company
● Advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and employee benefits.
● Manage redundancy processes and negotiate with staff and their representatives (trade union
officials) on issues relating to pay and conditions, contracts, and redundancy packages.
