Income Officer


Location: Dartford



Salary: 31-33K Depending on Experience (including Car Allowance)



Contract Type: Permanent - 35 hrs per week



About the role


We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Income Officer to join our Income and Advise Services Team. Having your own patch of customers who require support and guidance with their rent accounts. To liaise with the colleagues involved, working alongside Income Maximisation Officers and making connections with external support agencies, will be providing your customers with the best possible financial support with regards to their rent account, but ultimately to empower your customers to take control and manage the situation themselves.



Key responsibilities will include:



  • Provide a high quality aftercare service. Deliver excellent customer service in line with company values

  • Strong awareness of the benefit system and the legislation relating to income collection/debt management

  • Professionalism and organisation skills when preparing and presenting in Court

  • Contribute towards the control of budgets within the function

  • Building Effective Relationships

  • Records and systems



For the above post you will need to have/be:



  • Solid Experience of Income Recovery or similar work



  • Excellent customer service skills - empowering customers to manage their rent and service charge accounts

  • Performance - Working with team to maximise revenue, to build new homes as well as refurbish current homes for customers

  • Excellent Negotiation Skills - Passionate about helping people

  • Effective Communicator - Warm, friendly and engaging tone of voice, with the ability to adapt approach to each customer

  • Excellent attention to detail - To Build effective relationships with your residents, your team and the wider business

  • Computer literate with knowledge of Customer Database (CRM) & Microsoft Office (particularly spreadsheets) on a daily basis

  • Full Driving Licence & use of a vehicle (court attendance/home visits/local hubs can be required)
