£18 (PAYE) OR £23 (UMBRELLA) HOURLY RATE


MONDAY- FRIDAY, 9AM- 5PM


3 MONTH ASSIGNMENT (POSSIBILITY OF BEING EXTENDED)

INCOME RECOVERY OFFICER'S MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • To assist the Finance Team Leaders (Income Recovery & Enforcement) with all aspects of debt recovery.

  • To have the ability to learn/have specialist knowledge on the legislation, policy and guidelines for recovery enforcement for a wide range of debt types.

  • To ensure that the requirements to constrain the growth of rent arrears are met by prompt and efficient recovery actions in accordance with set procedures and good practice guidelines.

  • Using a high degree of personal responsibility and with a minimum of supervision carrying out a range of tasks associated with Housing rent collection including temporary accommodation, Adult Social Care Personal budget income, and Sundry debt recovery and enforcement process, which will include attendance at Court in the absence of the Income Recovery Lead Officer.

  • Liaises with Customers and their Representatives, External and Internal Stakeholders to effectively resolve enquiries and provide comprehensive advice and assistance in writing, and face to face.

  • Provides a service by efficiently resolving telephone enquiries.

  • To provide budgeting advice and assistance also motivational and practical support to ensure prioritisation of debts

  • To analyse tenants income and expenditure and to give advice on negotiating with creditors in order to reduce debts

  • To act as an advocate to Customers in order for them to appeal or challenge the welfare benefit decision.


THE IDEAL INCOME RECOVERY OFFICER MUST HAVE:



  • Strong previous income recovery/ collection experience

  • Experience demonstrating an understanding of debt collection and recovery



  • A strong knowledge of Financial Exclusion and the impact it has on residents.

  • Experience of working in a customer- focused environment and achieving successful outcomes

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with People outside of their team
