Trainer


We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Trainer to join the team at Dorset Police until December 2023. This position is a full time position and is based out of the Ferndown Police station in Dorset. You will be designing and delivering training and development interventions in order to ensure that the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviour of Police Officers and other members of the Force meet the requirements of the Force and priorities.


Your duties will include but are not limited to:



  • Coordinating and preparing annual training schedules

  • Designing, developing and delivering training and development across a variety of packages

  • Identifying individual training needs of students as well as the occupation and organisational training needs of the Force

  • Representing the People Department at internal and external meetings

  • Testing and assessing students and deliver any skills coaching

  • Maintaining records for lesson plans, courses, correspondence, reference materials course content and guest speakers


Requirements:



  • A recognised teaching qualification or equivalent

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to identify training and development needs and design bespoke training and development interventions

  • Sound organisational and planning skills

  • Methodical approach to problem solving

  • IT Literate and have experience of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
