Insurance Accountant

We have an opportunity for an experienced Insurance Compliance Accountant to join a fantastic company in Redhill with an excellent working environment.

This is a brand-new role for a part or fully qualified Insurance Accountant to come in and take ownership of taxes and levy, monthly booking, ready to pay, financial statements and regulatory returns.

The role will also involve producing reports to assist in the payment of local and foreign insurance taxes, as well as developing and creating complex analysis and reports.

Job Duties

    • Review and approve complex financial activities for various lines of business including journal entries and account reconciliations.

    • Preparation, submission and payment of foreign and local insurance taxes

    • Preparation, submission, account reconciliation and payment of insurance levies and smaller regulatory returns

    • Assist with corporation tax compliance

    • Participate in projects that involve complex analysis and implementation of non-complex, routine business and financial regulatory changes relating to financial reporting. For example, business reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, new accounting standards, etc.

    • Maintain compliance with various financial external regulatory requirements and internal accounting policies.

We are seeking someone with:

    • A recognized accounting qualification is required.

    • Ideally ACA , ACCA, or CIMA qualified.

    • Experience in a finance function of an insurance operation.

    • General knowledge of accounting theory and practice.

    • Working knowledge of Insurance annual account concepts / terminology.

    • Thorough knowledge of Excel,

    • Knowledge of Written premium and IPT
