Main responsibilities and activities supporting them

  1. Develop, project manage and implement internal communications strategies and plans that help deliver major internal initiatives including the Change 2009 programme

  1. ensure every strategy and plan follows the ROSIE model and includes - research, objectives, strategy, implementation and evaluation

  2. ensure appropriate budgets are agreed prior to implementation and manage spend against these budgets to ensure spend is kept within agreed budgets

  3. manage events which form part of communications strategies

  4. present campaign proposals to members and officers in a persuasive and effective manner

  1. Support the Internal Comms Manager in the delivery of the internal marketing programme of the Council.

  1. Manage internal marketing communications projects

  2. manage your workload effectively, balancing priority agreed with the Internal Comms Manager

  3. ensure the communications coding and work management systems of the team are consistently used

  1. Help manage the Council's Brand

  • help to implement the Council's corporate ID and ensure compliance across all channels and for all services offering advice where required

  • take a policing role to ensure that corporate branding guidelines are adhered to and provide a checking service to judge when proposed activity fails to serve a purpose' in marketing terms

  1. Provide marketing and communications advice

  • provide advice to Council officers, members and contractors on a range of communications issues, attending committees and other meetings when required

  • participate in the design and development of internal campaigns, offering advice to the MarComms Manager when required
