International Alumni Coordinator


Our client, a leading University based in central London are currently looking for an International Alumni Coordinator to join their Alumni Relations, Fundraising & Supporter Development team to plan, deliver and evaluate a comprehensive programme of events for international alumni in priority regions, including project management of associated mailings, web and email communications.


The main purpose of the role will be to grow an active community of overseas alumni volunteers who are engaged with and support the organisations international strategy, supporting also the international marketing, their worldwide activities and other international activity as a University.



  • Pay Rate: £15.38 p/h

  • Location: Waterloo, London

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Type: Temporary

  • Working Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm


Job Description:


Communication and Networking



  • To closely work with colleagues to ensure the international alumni and volunteer engagement plans are in line with International Marketing and Worldwide objectives.

  • Attend operational team meetings as well as project meetings and to build excellent relationships with alumni and academic staff to advance alumni outreach.

  • To represent the Department internally and externally to ensure that the university community and its audiences are well informed about FSD activities.

  • To research, liaise with and provide briefings for academics and other colleagues travelling abroad, maximising opportunities with overseas travel, lectures, conferences, etc. to increase alumni contacts from the university.


Decision making, Planning and Problem Solving



  • To deliver a programme of international alumni events in the USA and Asia.

  • Respond to requests for alumni volunteers to efficiently engage a range of volunteers and support international student recruitment.

  • To contribute to the development of the Alumni Team's engagement strategy and annual plans as well as inputting into the International Strategy, including individual country plans.

  • Responsible for monitoring the budget for ERD (External Relations Directorate) international alumni activities and ensuring that activities are costed and arrange for any cross divisional payments if necessary.

  • To take the lead on management of all activities and relationship management.


Service Delivery



  • To ensure that alumni, students, staff and volunteers receive the highest standard of care and stewardship and develop best practice volunteer management guidelines to share with colleagues in ERD.

  • To support University leadership in promoting and delivering excellent quality events and associated communications.


Analysis and Research



  • To analyse new and existing alumni data to guide future activity and ensure activity is maximised.

  • Keep informed of industry trends and best practice to help inform the development of the international alumni programme.


Team Work, Teaching and Learning Support



  • Assist in staff and volunteer recruitment, induction, and mentoring.

  • Attend training courses and workshops as part of personal and professional development.

  • Provide advice and support across the Alumni Relations Team.


Person Specification:


Essential



  • Good standard of education

  • Ability to prioritise and to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Understanding of the role of alumni relations within higher education.

  • Able to set and meet objectives and measure performance.

  • Flexibility to work effectively as part of a busy team and step in to help where necessary.

  • Flexibility and willingness to attend a number of commitments outside office hours.

  • Willingness to travel internationally if required.


Desirable



  • Educated to a degree level.

  • Experience of working in alumni relations, and/or membership programmes.

  • Volunteer and event management experience.

  • Experience of using Raiser's Edge of another relationship database.
