JOB TITLE: Project Manager
LOCATION: Working from home. May need to occasionally travel to the office in Croydon in the future
PAY RATE: £400 per day
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 6 months plus potential extensions



Overview:


IT Network services are part of our core technology. It provides the infrastructure on which all our IT run on, together with the provision of Wi-Fi across all sites. Therefore, it is a vital service in order to enable ALL staff to be able to do their jobs.

The IT Networks contract is due for renewal in May 2022 and the project manager is required to ensure there is a reduction in costs of renewing or extending these contracts. This work is linked to RESSAV 23 with a savings target of £150k in 2023/24 and therefore work must be carried out to ensure we achieve the savings.

The CDS Capital plan includes the need to review its core digital support contracts. This encompasses a number of separate contracts with third parties to support and manage the core technology infrastructure.

This role covers the IT Networks contracts as part of this wider review.


Duties of the role:



  • Manage delivery of this large project to tight deadlines from requirements gathering stage in August 2021 to implementation of the new service in May 2023.

  • Manage all reporting and governance for this project at the CDS Portfolio Board fortnightly meeting, CDS Project Managers Meeting, CDS Resources Planning Meeting and for the CDS Delivery Tracker.

  • Manage engagement with key stakeholders, with suppliers and with the LBC Commissioning and Procurement team.

  • Manage risks, issues and dependencies throughout the whole process, escalating through the correct CDS Governance process as required.

  • Undertake the procurement work to produce and issue a tender

  • Evaluate responses to select a preferred supplier

  • Manage the transition from the incumbent to the new supplier
