  1. Background



The Business Operations Team work as part of a Partnership with Kingston, Sutton, and Merton Council, and also provides services to schools, and other organisations. There are currently 29,000 employees across 40 payrolls.



The HR service recently embarked on a restructure which will significantly change the model of HR and they way in which it interacts with its customers with a shift to an increasingly OD and digital approach. There is an increasing focus to utilise the HR/Payroll System with a view of implementing additional modules such as Chatbot and GDPR, as well as, developing our current modules including Learning and Development and People Management. We are currently implementing a new Electric theme over the next 6-9 months.



Therefore, we are looking for an iTrent Consultant to join us for a period of 6 months. The ideal candidate will work across both Kingston and Sutton whilst providing a service to Merton Council in helping on the use of iTrent, as well as trouble-shooting issues. The role will provide support to existing projects such as the roll out of iTrent Electric Theme (Change in look and feel of iTrent and navigation), rollout of E-Payslips, restructures and reviewing the Learning and Development module. The role will also have a focus on training and upskilling the existing Business Operations team to allow them to take Level 2 support queries and investigate them fully before escalating with our Payroll Provider, Agilisys.

Successful roll out of iTrent Electric and E-Payslips


Identify and resolve issues with the current system set up - Annual Leave/Sickness


Identification of potential system developments



2. Support the Business Operations Team with BAU


Business as usual and SLA's are maintained throughout project work and roll out of Electric and E-Payslips.



3. Train and Upskill Business Operations Team


The Business Operations Team will be able to take Level 2 Support queries and maintain the current system. They will be able to develop the system should a new need arise



Requirements of applicants


The following skills and experience are required:



  • Experience of implementing an integrated HRIS and Payroll iTrent system.

  • Experience of designing, building and configuring an iTrent system.

  • Experience of the following iTrent modules: HR/Payroll, Time and Expenses, Absence (Annual Leave/Sickness) and Learning and Development

  • Experienced interaction with HR/Payroll policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of GDPR

  • Experience of training and upskilling staff

  • An ability to work at pace and deliver visible results quickly

  • Experience in providing a technical systems support service to end users

  • Experience of working within a team or project environment

  • Good communications/interfacing skills and 'can do' attitude

  • Experience of end to end payroll processing

  • Experience of Business Objects (Desirable)
