The purpose of this role is to perform the analysis requested by Lavazza Pro on packaging, ingredients and finished goods to ensure product quality, NSV growth, cost savings, and delivery of new product launches meets the consumer requirements and reliability in the market. The criticality of this role is to maintain the accuracy and traceability of results so that the quality of analysis is sustained within the desired timeframe.



  • Perform in-house scientific procedures, verification checks, and methodologies on ingredients and packaging samples utilising good laboratory practices in accordance with a laboratory work request and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Perform and report analysis, raising any anomalies or concerns directly to the Senior Laboratory Technician or Project Leader.

  • Ensure samples are received, handled, and stored in accordance with documented procedures.

  • Ensure laboratory and equipment is maintained, calibrated and cleaned to a high standard.

  • Prepare, follow and manage standard operating procedures for sample preparation, method development, and analysis.

  • Provide assistance during document review activities, and potential improvements in ways of working as part of laboratory continuous improvement activities.

  • Work closely with Senior Laboratory Technician to provide training on SOPs.

  • Take ownership on a key laboratory responsibility such as training record, PPE inventory, or COSHH management.

  • Highlight out of specifications or data irregularities to Senior Laboratory Technician / Project Leaders.

  • Highlight any variances with procedures, logs or labelling Adhere to all safety policies, risk assessments, and COSHH requirements in accordance with company policy.

  • Maintain clean bench policy in all laboratory areas.

  • Maintain traceability of all test data.
