An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Property Maintenance Manager to join a public sector organisation based in Essex

The successful applicant will have Direct experience of developing, delivering, and monitoring schedules of planned, preventative, cyclical, and capital works across a similar estate, ideally within a local government.

They will be required to have a practical knowledge of facilities management related regulations and statutory requirements in respect of health and safety and compliance etc

In this role your main objectives include:

  • Direct responsibility for the management of all staff (5FTE), contractors and consultants within the team, setting targets, monitoring performance, and taking corrective action as required.

  • Support the development and implementation of a clear Asset Management Plan directing the use of the company's assets to support the delivery of the company's objectives and those of its partners.

  • Ensure that appropriate systems and processes are in place to secure the effective and safe opening, closing and operation of the company's operational property portfolio including daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and procedures for disaster recovery etc.

  • Lead the development of an efficient planned, preventative, and cyclical maintenance regime to support the effective operation of all buildings, supporting the training and utilising the Facilities Assistants as required.

  • Work with colleagues within the Capital Team to support the specification and procurement of services and works in respect of capital projects; and

  • Champion and support the roll out of the Corporate Landlord model across all operational and non-operational properties; and

  • Provide Building Services input into broader initiatives/work streams including estates and service transformation activity and rationalisation/co-location efforts in respect of Public Health etc.
