The position holder is responsible for material control at the drinks factory working closely with the Logistics Coordinator Stock Control. This role ensures the materials required for production are available to production when required within the space limitations of the site. The position holder checks inbound and outbound loads and manages waste on site. This role ensures that the Drinks Factory can run efficiently and effectively and is not adversely impacted by inbound or outbound material control issues.



Inspecting all material on arrival for correct quantity and quality as per the defined Quality Standards and HACCP regulations (e.g. COAs, label check, package condition, etc.)


Reporting any CofA failures following the Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring damaged goods are returned as and when required


Supplying the respective Drinks Factory production lines with the adequate and appropriate raw materials in line with warehouse management principles


Storing all delivered raw materials on site in accordance with the defined standards


Inspecting the palletised product labels to ensure accuracy and correct transfer of data on to the respective warehouse management systems


Removing pallets of labelled finished goods from palletising area and load on to trailers in a timely manner to ensure no backlog is created


Producing accurate documentation of finished goods


Waste storage - Ensuring all waste and/or returnable goods (e.g. pallets) are stored in the designated area in line with the required standards ready for collection/removal


Inspections/Checks - Carrying out and documenting all required checks for operational tools such as forklift truck, racking, high-lifter, transit room, etc. in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures


Operating machinery in line with the role requirements and Health & Safety Regulations


Responsible for the safety and security of the yard


Be trained in the cycle counting process to provide cover for the Logistics Coordinator Stock Control as required


Liaising as and when required with the respective departments/associates such as Logistics, Lead Operators, Production Shift Managers, Quality, etc.


Minimising operational difficulties such as stock outs, production stops, etc. by evaluating errors and developing/recommending and implementing remedial actions


In collaboration with the peer community, identify and drive the implementation of continuous improvement (CI) initiatives on behalf of the Material Control team in the Drinks Factory


Working with factory Logistics associates, Lead Operators and S&F Supply Analyst, understand potential and actual raw material losses in the Drinks Factory, identify likely cause and implement potential corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate losses


Supervise any contractor support in the area


Cross-training in other logistics roles to cover as required


Any other reasonable tasks as assigned to you by a manager



GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent essential


Formal qualification in forklift truck operation


Formal trainer qualification in forklift truck operation desirable but not essential
