Leadership and Management Assessors

We currently have an exciting opportunity for two Leadership and Management Assessors to work with the future leaders at Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Police. This position is to support the workplace assessment requirements for Police Sergeants and Inspectors undertaking the National Police Promotion Framework.

We welcome applications from individuals with significant experience as a manager and /or have accredited leadership and management qualifications. An assessor qualification is not essential - we will offer you the opportunity to achieve this.

The position is a hybrid role which enables you to work from home, your local police station and have the ability to travel to other police stations across Devon & Cornwall

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the development of good leadership practice

  • Providing internal quality assurance for the Professionalisation Framework, ensuring evidence meets the assessment requirements of accredited qualifications and Policing Professional Framework Personal Qualities

  • Designing and delivering learning and development solutions to meet the needs of the organisation

  • Carrying out induction into qualifications and learning programmes and provide coaching, advice and guidance


  • Level 5 or above Leadership and Management qualification or equivalent experience

  • Experience of facilitating learning and development solutions

  • Comprehensive knowledge and applications of current assessment and quality assurance standards

  • Ability to evaluate the development of an individual against standards and assessment criteria

  • Experience providing coaching, advice and guidance to others

  • The ability to communicate effectively
