Learning and Development Consultant


Our client; a charitable organisation are looking to recruit a Learning and Development consultant to represent the People Development & Talent Management team. The role will support the Head of Organisation Design and Development to establish the learning & development specifications of the projects, focusing on developing and implementing strategies for the capture, analysis and identification of capabilities and learning needs.


The role will support the project team to embed a culture of learning and to guide them through the ideation and co-creation processes, developing an innovative and employee centred environment that aligns to business needs.



  • Location: Central London

  • Pay: £22-£25 per hour

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 34.5hrs

  • Duration: 6 Months

  • Type: Temporary

  • Start Date: ASAP


Job Description


The role is required to be London based and will be expected to take part in daily morning project 'scrum' sessions.



  • Provide expertise for HR Business Partners and HR Change colleagues to sequence organisation design and development activities and establish clear handoffs and ways of working within this process.

  • Participate as a leading member of the Operating Model programme team to:


    • Develop, manage and lead organisation design and development plans (from design to implementation and transition)

    • Align implementation plans

    • Collaborate with the organisation to produce effective engagement and communication approaches


  • Actively partner and collaborate with the People Development team to develop the right solution to embed and enable the intended benefits of any organisation design changes.

  • Facilitate workshops and work in partnership with consultants in the design and implementation of learning solutions.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, teamwork, advocacy, problem solving, analytical and presentation skills.

  • Drive integrated people development approaches to support transformational change projects.

  • Develop capability requirements at role level and make proposals on the range of people development interventions required to underpin new ways of working.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to design people development products.

  • Demonstrate strong project management experience and skills.

  • Develop and drive initiatives related to strengthening our behaviours and culture.

  • Utilise coaching skills, underpinned by a collaborative and supportive style of working.

  • Use external and internal insight to shape the solutions developed to drive efficiency and effectiveness and increase business impact.

  • Ensure all design, competency / assessment methodologies, learning frameworks and approaches are incorporated effectively into their solutions.

  • Develop and facilitate virtual and face to face planning workshops

  • Make proposals on a range of L&D interventions/products required to underpin new ways of working

  • Determine different capability and skill requirements at role level

  • Deliver the L&D rollout and all of the associated implementation planning


Skills/Experience



  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to agreed timescales

  • Consultative experience with strong relationship management skills

  • Highly organised with an attention to detail, an ability to deliver to deadlines and to prioritise effectively, excellent stakeholder engagement skills

  • Able to use initiative to make decisions with pace

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the confidence to influence decisions

  • Ability to work independently while simultaneously being a team player

  • Experience of delivering against a clear vision and motivating others to deliver exceptional results
