Job Description Paralegal / Legal Secretary

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Fee Earners in undertaking all legal work that the firm carries out including:

  • Typing of letters, documents, memos

  • Preparing legal forms

  • Updating case management system

  • Opening and closing files

  • Requisitioning payments and bills as requested by Fee Earners

  • Attending meetings if required and taking notes

  • Answering incoming calls if necessary

  • Covering Reception as necessary

  • Completing administrative tasks

  • Collating documents, photocopying, scanning etc

  • Corresponding with clients, via email, telephone and Microsoft Teams

  • Monitoring emails and post and providing information to the Fee Earners

  • Complying with Anti-Money Laundering Regulations and completing regulatory requirements and training

  • Developing practical and professional skills, particularly by attending seminars, webinars and internal training courses

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills

  • Audio typing

  • Time management skills

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written

  • Excellent IT skills

  • Flexibility and adaptability

  • Basic accounts knowledge

  • Enthusiasm and commitment

  • General office admin skills

  • Willingness to learn
