Our client continues to go from strength to strength and is now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to add to their existing team in North Ayrshire.


In this role you will work with the Product Design Engineers to develop test requirements. Implement effective measurement systems, monitoring regimes and safe systems of work for the Proof team, leading the production of the risk assessments and operating instructions.


You will have many responsibilities, some will include:



  • Carry out all activities in full compliance with H&SE legislation, within company policy and procedure

  • Responsible for reporting any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the proof equipment register in Qpulse

  • To design plant / process layouts and include any jigs or tooling necessary: this is to be carried out in conjunction with project/ product support engineering where applicable and the drawing office department

  • Work with the Product Design Engineers to understand product testing requirements, equipment and regimes

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all supporting documents required for new and existing products

  • Responsible for ensuring all risk assessments and reviews within the Proof area are accurate and up to date

  • Responsible for ensuring the Proof Bills of Material and routings accurately reflect proofing requirements and activities

  • Undertake Measurement Systems Analysis within proofing area and implement the necessary improvements

  • Prepare operating instructions for the Proof operators and review existing instructions with them to capture changes/improvements

  • Continually seeks to identify new ideas and implement new opportunities, which deliver business benefit



To be considered the client is looking for the following skills:



  • Degree or equivalent work experience in Mechanical, Mechatronics or similar

  • Mechanical bias preferred, electrical knowledge advantageous

  • NEBOSH General Certificate advantages but not essential

  • Experience working in an mechanical or electrical device/system testing and analysis environment

  • Knowledge of measurement systems and how performance of electrical or mechanical devices is tested / measured and reported

  • Knowledge of statistical process control

  • Risk assessment knowledge and experience is essential

  • Experience of writing operating instructions is essential

  • Advanced IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Within your first 6 months you will have basis safety principles and knowledge of business systems and relevant experience in the use of them. Within the first year you will have an NEBOSH general certificate.
