A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing / Hospital services operative to work for the National Health Service.

The position (initially an ongoing temporary position leading to the possibility of a permanent job offer) is based within the manufacturing/hospital services department of a blood donation centre. The department play a pivotal role in directly saving millions of lives and furthering our understanding of blood and plasma.

You will handle a wide range of tasks, including:

* receiving, processing and issuing of blood donations

* monitoring of storage equipment

* Ensuring incoming blood supplies are properly received and accounted for and undergo the due process.

* Manual handling (applicants must be willing to lift and move packages up to 13kg).

* Checking to ensure donations are stored and received correctly onto the database (attn to detail is imperative).

Despite the variety of work involved, you will need to be physically fit as moving and shifting donations/boxes of donations is a vital part of this role. In return for your hard work, you will be rewarded with a starting salary of between £11.48 -£12.39 per hour, full on-the-job training and the opportunity to start a career within the national health service. Hours beyond 8pm are paid at a premium as are weekends and bank holidays.

Hours and shifts can vary but are fixed. They could be, for example:

* Mon - Fri, 2pm - 10pm

* Wed - Sun, 3pm - 11pm
