Marketing and Communications Officer

2 Month Temporary Role

£18 - £20 per hour

Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm

Adecco are currently recruiting for a Marketing and Communications Officer to work within a prestigious university based in East London.


  • To be responsible for maintaining and developing the School website via our content management system and School-related content on the central website. This includes keeping content relevant, accurate and up-to-date; ensuring that the website meets the needs of our target audiences; using market research to guide content and navigation, search engine optimisation techniques and tools such as Google Analytics to assess effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement. The post-holder will enhance the School's website presence to meet recruitment objectives including where appropriate electronic forms and electronic versions of printed publications and ensuring that content is in line with CMA guidelines.

  • To collate and produce regular news articles and dynamic content for our online and offline channels, including copy, images and video to position the School as the best in the sector. This requires proactively seeking out information, research news and stories that are topical and relevant to our key audiences.

  • To support the School's social media communications and networking channels (including Twitter Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube), and contribute to the development of new initiatives for our student and staff community.

  • To support academic colleagues in promoting their research to a variety of audiences (both academic and non-academic), including through communications, publications and events.

  • To assist in the design, implementation and delivery of online and printed marketing content and materials.

  • To use the university's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to prepare and deliver e-communications to relevant audiences including current students and staff and offer holders and monitor their success.

  • The post holder would be a member of the SBCS Marketing and Communications Committee, and would implement the modifications and development needed to meet the needs of this group.

  • The post holder would also be responsible for the development and production of ad-hoc marketing/publicity publications required by the School.

  • To research latest front-end technology and evaluate how the School may implement these techniques to improve user experience.

  • To coordinate and take editorial and project management responsibility for the School's communication strategy including newsletters for internal and external stakeholders, School prospectuses etc. working with academic and administrative staff to gather relevant information.
